Zig and zag - nothing to do with toast

I remember having almost all the zig and zag things they brought out when i was a kid, but not this, now i finally am gonna get it. Does anyone remember If it is any good? And what it's about, it is dated 1988, makes me feel so old.

zig and zag they bring back memories, got that video somewhere. one thing i do have to hand is my old zag toy, mate used to have zig we used to have great crack with them.

Bloody zig and zag were the bane of my life for a while during the late 80's!Me and a friend used to do a music magazine full of terrible jokes and 'viz' style cartoons.One of the episodes was what we called a 'toast special',full of a load of useless information about toast.Not long after Zig and Zag satrted thier nothing to do with toast routine.Another time we had and "undersea special" with stupid references to fish,particularly lobsters,a week later they were doing the same thing.It turned out that one bloke we used to sell the magazine to had afather who was some kind of researcher for that show and basicly ripped off loads of our material..AND there was nothing we could do about it!!

I remember 'Nothing To Do With Toast' very well. Used to rent it out constantly when I was seven.(days before burniong DVDs from Xtravision:p ) Zig and Zags fave food was cucumber and custard sandwiches!! Remember?;) There was also a great sketch in the vid where Zag dresses up as Zagarella and had to look for his magic white runner, yep 80s style!!

Funny that. When I was in college I used to have a regular radio programme where I did the voices of two characters who would tell amusing scary stories... about a year later a Scare at Bedtime came out. I had stories about travel freakshows and their horrifying recruitment methods and tales involving voodoo magic and the devil. I even used the same BBC sound effects albums, Esential Death and Horror Volumes 1 and 2.

god i was heart broken when they were taken of the telly and over sea,s..i bought the dvd last year the best bits. watched it still funny with zig as millessa .

Hi,I have the zig and zag toys from 1989.the zig is still sealed in it's plastic and is wearing a cape and yellow glasses with u boat on his t shirt.The zag has a cape also with capn j on it.I also have zuppy the alien dog and dustin the turkey which talks when you press his back,dustin is 1998 z enterprises.I have the nothing to do with toast dvd,and to top it off I have all 6 zig and zag mini figures in original unopened packets which sold for £1.49 at the time and I have the cardboard displaying all six to collect that would have been on the counter in the shops to show all to collect.I've never come across them all for sale together or even just a couple.Thought you may like to know.As soon as I get pics I will post them for you and others to enjoy.

That'd be Captain Joke and Captain U-boat. Captain U-boat was revealed to be Zig in disguise a moniker he adopted after being unmasked as Captain Pillowcase. Captain Joke's true identity has never been revealed:D

"Million Quid Vid" was a far superior Zig and Zag video. When you look back on "Nothing To Do With Toast" you kind of wonder how we thought parts of it were funny.

I still have my zig and zag toys! Thought they're far from mint condition- I loved them as a kid so they're well broken in
Still have their tape zig zaggin' around and all the books
