Still no bona-fide must haves there. The 360 needs a 'killer ap' badly. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion might prove to be that game for me personally, but I doubt it will mean much to the majority of the games buying public.

Ghost Recon and Gears OF War released on same day .......... :D

They will do me very nicely indeed (especially Ghost Recon MP)

Marble Blast came out on Live Arcade last week and if you haven't tried it yet, get it. I haven't touched Need for Speed since I got it, and I had been enjoying Need for Speed!

I'm spending most of my time playing the arcade games instead. They're just alot more fun than the sh!t that was released at launch. Hopefully they will get a little bit better in March.

I very much doubt Gears of War will come out on schedule. Looking more like Autumn now.

What beggars belief is the fact Microsoft are desperate to make big ground on the PS3 before it comes out... how did they expect to achieve this with their no games schedule?. I haven't touched my Xbox 360 since before Christmas (due to the fact I only have the 'delights' that Perfect Dark Zero has to offer, or lack thereof), this is single handedly the most disappointing launch and post launch for a console I've bought, sure the Nintendo DS had a serious games drought for six months after release, but I didn't stop playing that.

Its obviously a problem, but if the developers can be believed, the games were pushed back to iron out bugs and provide an overall better game experience.
I for one would rather wait an extra month or two for a polished game.
Also, its not like we've really lost out by getting the XBox360 early, I see its actually gone up in Argus now, something like €330 for the core system?

MS are so far ahead of sony and the ps3 in terms of console release, they can afford to spend more time developing kick ass games  role on GR3.

I know that Frame City Killer was pushed back after they released some screen shots in Japan and everyone laughed at how bad the graphics were for next gen, they then pushed back the date out of embarassment.

Others I know have held games back due to lack of people owning the console and less people available to buy the game thinking if they delay a few months they'll get better sales. Which is crap, DOA4 went straight to number 1 in the UK sales chart. There are no games so more people are likely to buy your game during this period even if they don't like the genre and 360 magazines have nothing to cover so if you release something now they'll probably all dedicate big features to you and make your game seem more important than it is.

I don't think its too bad. I don't look for a 'killer app' like all you, i just take them when they come along, to avoid disapointment. I've got 6 or 7 games on the 360, and play it quite a bit. Tony Hawks is decent, Comdemned offers great gameplay and PGR3 is excellent on live. Bit of COD2, PD0 and NFSMW on multiplayer too....

Its not as bad as you're all making out.

The 'killer-apps' will come. It just takes a while. Look at how many the PS2 has got in the last while (God Of War, Resident Evil 4 and Shadow of the Colossus) because its an ageing console and developers know how to work with the kit.

The PS2 launch was also lacking in quality. The best game then was TimeSplitters, and it wasn't even that good. The first must have game on the PS2, if my memory serves me correctly, was GTA3, which arrived almost a year later.

The Xbox was very lucky to have Halo at launch.

Publishers dont release games in Q1...

Are you people new to gaming or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,256 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

Dirty Harry: (Action) Published by Warner Bros. Interactive, developed by The Collective

Although it'll more than likely be a crap licencesed game, a Dirty Harry game sounds good.

They really need to push some good games , rumor has it the PS3 will arrive sooner rather than later.

I really doubt that tbh, sony makes and break promises regarding this stuff all the time. Hopefully it will turn out good in the end.

it is abit of a joke alright...
starting to regret getting a 360 at launch :( the way its looking now i could have bought it 6 months later and still not have got the games i wanted (oblivion and gears of war) with it

also by the time that the games start to arrive knowing microsoft they will probably drop the price of the the 360 aswell.great for others but a kick in the teeth for those of us who fought tooth and nail to get a release day console.

I doubt they will to be honest.

There's no point. Especially with no competition coming for a year, and the likely very high price point the PS3 will release at (talk of 500 quid)

this always happens. i'm shocked people are surprised. happened with xbox, ps2, psp and now 360. it's a dull time when games in development get pushed back and publishers push the games back even more because this time of year is a black hole for money-making (everyone's broke after christmas, and in work/school/college)
