Skype and MSN Messenger

    I hate to be non-confrontational, but I'd like some information!

    I have MSN Messenger working no problem in College. Unfortunately I can't make voice or video calls. Does anyone know if this is possible?

    I have recently installed Skype, but haven't had time to test it yet. Does the video function of Skype work through the firewall?

    I can get Skype-audio to work, but haven't tested Skype-video. Instructions are here: http://isservices.tcd.ie/internet/skype.php - a little bit fiddly especially on a Mac. MSN audio has never worked for me.

    i was chating to a mate of mine this afternoon using the skype video chat thingie. I'm outside on the southside of dublin while he was in our lab in the museum building...perfect clarity and picture on his cheap ass webcam.

    That would indicate that Skype works for video through the firewall then. I shall investigate.
