    Hi...

Having a problem with my Windows Media player.

It will play files that are saved to my pc as per normal, but when i go to play a web stream, that windows error report thing comes up and windows media player crashes.

I've checked for updates and none are available and i've installed no programmes since it was last working.

    I've re-booted, no difference either.

    Any suggestions please?

    What's the error message?

I've attached a screen shot of the only error message that comes up.
And it's happening with every webstream i try to listen to! Not just one.

Since the first post, I've uninstalled and re-installed Media Player.

Un-installed iTunes and real player and shut off my anti-virus.

    Didn't make any difference.

Get anything when you click on details? I had this problem a few times but it was intermittent. I'm shooting in the dark here, anyone else have ideas? :)

I had that problem with one website that had a video coded using Xvid and DIVX would try to play the file and then media player would crash, What 3rd party codecs have you got installed on the PC.

Ok here is some of the data the error report contains:
    AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: 10.0.0.3802 ModName: ntdll.dll
    ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 0001142e

And there was a load of stuff in the "Technical Data" too.

    I'll try attach that.

That sounds a lot like the prob I had actually, something to do with codecs...

Edit: Are these RealPlayer streams by any chance?

Nope. Real Player streams are working perfectly.

I have no external codecs downloaded.

All these streams worked fine last week :-(
