Live pause problem STILL not fixed?

My V2 Pace plus box seemed to be behaving itself since the software update a couple of weeks ago. Until last night watching Match Of The Day on BBC1. Tried to use live pause and it just froze! Couldn't rewind, fast forward, unpause etc. Had to press the Sky button to go back to live viewing. I thought this was supposed to be fixed?

Anyway, I did the usual unplugging the Sky+ box to reset it and after that live pause was working OK again. For a while at least.... I was using it later to rewind a piece of action, and ended up doing a few keypresses in quick succession - Rew, Play, Rew, Play etc. to find the right bit, and all of a sudden the box started playing a recorded show in the planner that we had watched part of earlier in the evening but stopped halfway through. It started playing that show from where we'd left it...

So I had to exit that playback to go back to live TV, only to find the live TV buffer had been cleared and I couldn't rewind before that time.

Anyone else still getting the old live pause problem, and what about this 2nd new problem?

never even knew what live pause issues where until this version of SW

So you're getting it too? But only since this sotfware update?
    I can't believe no-one else has.....

Not much point in complaining to Sky - they ignored everyone who had the problem for the past few months, until this release which was supposed to have fixed it....

what happens is that i pause a program that is currently live ( not same for recordings ) and basically play , rewind and forward don't work , even though bar on box and screen starts rotating as if running on time delay.
I need to come back out by pressing sky button to resolve

Never had this problem until software update occured

    That's the one!
Lots of people had it before the update (including me).

[So far] only you and I seem to have experienced it after the update. It doesn't bode too well if the bug has been newly introduced on your system which was fine before....

Sorry to bump my own thread, but has no-one else seen this since the update?

It happened again to me last night, although I discovered that just switching off to Standby and then back on again got live pause working again

That wasn't the case before the update was it? Didn't you always have to power off at the mains?

I did have the problem sometimes before the update and have not seen it since, however have only used it a few times since so I'm not sure I'm out of the woods yet. And yes when it did happen prior to the update the only way to fix it was to power off at the mains this would fix it for a while but it would come back sometimes within hours sometimes days later, switching to Standby didn't fix it, at least not for me.

I have had this problem for the past year. Rang sky at least 4 times because of it. (how much do these calls cost) The usual answer they give is to unplug sky box wait 60 seconds and turn on. If this doesnt work they suggest a system reset which loses any thing on the planner.I have used both of these solutions from time to time. The latest fault to add to the list is where the recordings in planner are deleted. Now i cant get pause or record functions on my machine. This despite the so called updates. I rang sky yesterday and they trotted out the usual remedies (unplug machine blah blah ) When i told them i was at work (you cant get through at night) but had tried all they suggested, the only advice i got was to try again. If this didnt work i would need a service engineer to call at a cost to me of €100 or so to be paid to service engineer when he called. They sounded a bit defensive. Should they not be fixing this problem as it is their service which is at fault. I dont know what to do at this stage. Any any ideas. Sky is great until something goes wrong that cant be sorted from the comfort of their telephones.

My live pause/recording problems have been fixed. I had to pay €108 to a sky engineer who told me the box was kaput. He replaced it free of charge. I hope this is not whats facing anyone else with this problem:mad:
