....but HJ will always be the master.

Live cash game last night. 1/2 PLHE. The villain in this hand is an ok player. We have some history together. He walked into my aces in a tournament the same night and we've been locking horns in several hands at this table.

My table image is bad. I'm raising almost every pot as its 6 handed (ooohhh I love short handed :) ) and I'm basically being a menace at the table. I haven't shown any bluffs yet but I have shown some **** hands which I raised with and connected.

Earlier I raised with KQ. both blinds called me. Flop was 3-5-8 with 2 hearts. Both check to me. I bet 2/3 the pot and the villain in SB made a minimum raise. He had 4-8o. I folded.

On te next orbit I raise UTG with K-To and once again both blinds call me and both check to me on the flop. I bet the pot on a flop A-8-x and once again the SB makes a minimum raise to 50.

At the start of the hand we both have about €700 and we are both in the profit for the night by about €300.

    Call/Fold/Reraise?

Did you show the KQ on the previous hand?

Just pass, if he has top pair Vs a dude that he wants to get even with, then he is not planning to lay it down.

Every now and then, check a flop that you miss (or hit).

Well based on the title of the thread I'm thinking you called or raised (leaning towards a raise) and either took down the hand or found him at it. Without being at the table in question i'd probably lay it down.

Obviously folding would be your default position, but if I was to make a move I would flat call the raise on the flop then bet if checked to, or raise his turn bet. I think three betting the flop looks too much like a bluff, and its not really a line taken with any real hand.

Its unlikely you can push a random badish player off a good ace, so your gambling that he has A x < 9 or he has some other pair. Before attempting I would of liked to see him fold a top pair strength hand.

Drop the hand, no point in getting involved any further. Most times you will just end up trying to front something, he will try and prove to himself that your taking the pi$$, even with second pair, and you will possibly dig yourself into a hole.

If you are proceeding you need to make a substantial re-raise to get definition as opposed to a weak bet which can be easily slow played by him.

Meh, I wouldnt care about folding this one...who cares if you dont have the power :v:

That's just it, I didn't think he had a good ace, more likely a weak kicker or even just an an 8. Since earlier he rmin raised me with top pair (an 8) with a 4 kiucker I took this move to be more a sign of weakness than strength. There's no reason for him to think I'm bluffing since postflop I've shown nothing but winning hands (bad as they may have been). Also since he is up for the night and I can hurt him financially I felt he would be afraid to get involved.

I would often delay bluff in this spot but I felt that would just confuse him and he might decide to stay in so I reraised to €150. He folded showing an Ace and I'm assuming a weak kicker.

After showing this bluff I won €150 with Kings in the next hand when I was called down by a very bad player who had queen high and no draw on the flop, hit a queen on the turn and couldn't release it.
