If anyone is looking for a Vid or Dvd of a race let me know...

Should have stuck this up ages ago but i never knew there was a horse racing forum. I work part time as a camera opp at the races, as far as i know we have every race going back to the early 80's.. possibly later.

btw, this isn't a free service.. Those cameras don't come for free, neither do I :p:p I'll help boards members out if ur looking for anything in particular n try n get u a deal. I've no intention of making money from this, just helping out boards.ie members..

If this is against forum rules in any way please remove.

    Hi,
Do you have a website for this?
    Info on prices, delivery etc..??

No website at the mo, they're working on it..

Tapes are €25 n Dvds are €30.. thats per race!! expensive i know but its the main source of income for the company.. Price comes down the more races. Nationwide Postage is included in the price afaik. If u want extra races u send ur tape/dvd back and they're added on. Works out cheaper that way..

€30 for a single race seems extremely excessive to me and I cannot exactly see people falling over one and other at those prices. Maybe some compilations from particular years would be better, i.e. all the big flat races from year X or Cheltenham for a particular year. Imagine if somebody was looking for the Cheltenham festival from last year, it would cost them €720 at your rates.

Especially in this day and age of the internet etc. Thanks for posting up the service unklerosco but I can really only imagine it being of interest to owners or enthusiasts who have strained every other resource to find a particular race they have been searching for.

€30 is way too expensive for a single race.
I bought last years 2004/2005 National hunt dvd for £16stg which included the highlights of all the big races!
As someone said only people looking for a specific race will look for this service.

Its really only for owners and trainers... We get paid by the track to record the meeting, sis pay for the rights to use the footage and then our main source of income after that is the race.. they cost that much cause realistically thats what they cost to make, our OB alone cost over a million € and each camera is in the region of €100,000+.. then u've wages etc on top of that. It aint cheap.. I think its insane the amount of people that buy the tapes when they cost that much... sure half of em just hand over €50's n dont take the change.. Wish i owned a horse ;-)
