Do you have your own seat in the pub?

Have you ever been asked by someone to vacate a seat because it 'belongs' to someone (other the owner obviously)?

Its all a bit odd eh?

i wasn't asked to move but in my local all the old men like to sing in the bar on sundays. the first time we went on a sunday some old guy started to sing a ballad and we just kept on talking and thinking he was weird. then when he finished someone else started and so on. then some guy about 25 years old and told us to keep it down! we don't sit in the bar on sundays anymore

If someone came up to me in a pub and said 'thats my seat' id tell them to fup right off.

In sligo (typical knackerhole) some little tit came up to me last week in an empty McDonalds saying "im sittin there" ... I remained seated and said "Go on so" ... He was quite confused, didnt know how to react.. I laughed

Theres lots of freaks that have a seat obsession. A local coupld who were totally alcoholic used to have their own seat in the pub (kinda cos they never left!) and used tio give abuse to people if they got there before them and sat in their seat! There was a big row one day and they were thrown out and banned. If anyone told me to move id tell them where to go. if a seats empty its yours.

It sure is. I hope you told the guy who said it to you to walk on.

Well in my local there is a particular seat that all the old women sit at, they have been doing the same for years. So we all tend to leave it empty for them,
If people are sitting there when the old ladies come in they( the oldies) sit beside them and corner them in.
It was even worse when smoking was allowed as everyone of the old women smoked at the same time, it ended up like a steam room.

So yeah it does happen, but maybe just in older/local pubs

Not in a pub, but at college.

I was in a PC lab working on a project (no class in the lab that hour)

About 10 minutes before the next class was to begin, this silly little b!tch came marching into the lab, walked straight up to me & said get up, this is my seat!!
(She was a year above so thought she'd the God given right to remove us from the room. She had a reputation for this kind of attitude so I was well prepared for her)

I said EXCUSE ME????? I don't think so.

She said, I've a class here now, this is my seat so get up.

I said, you've a class here in 10 minutes, so when I'm finished I'll get up, now go away & cop on.

    SHE DID!!

Everyone heard it & she was mortified.
To say she never bothered me about her seat again............... :D

I used to have a seat in my local, and one drunken night I actually wrote my name on the seat with permanent marker. In the intervening time they've sanded and revarnished the seats.. I haven't been back since :(

in my local, everyone generally sits in the same places. in college it was the same, we lived over the main college bar, so we were always there, in the same seats.

Theres an old woman in one of the pubs I go to and she has the same seat in the pub. anyone who is sitting in her seat just gets asked to get up politely by the bar man.

I think its fair enough in her case as shes a nice enough old woman.

i cant believe that.If someone came up to me in a pub and said" thats my seat" id break their necks.I hate that kind of crap- its a PUBLIC house!!

If they want there own seat **** off home and sit on ur couch

Me and my mates do have a certian seat we like to sit in and we are well known by everyone who works there- but if we got there and someone was already in it we would just sit somewhere else- we wouldnt run to the bar staff cryn like wimps.

    Some people are patehic
