    hi lads, i was on a website a few days ago that is no longer viewable on the net. I need to view this page again fairly urrgently. Would the page be fully saved in the firefox cache folder? And how would i go about viewing it.

    I usally have Google Desktop switched on but i turned it off a few weeks ago. Damn!

    I think Ctrl + H brings up history in Firefox. I had to dig up some links to pdfs I had looked at (had forgotten the urls) so I just searched with a term or two and it found them.

    Sorry that's probably not what you're looking for. I'm not sure if ^^ will pull up a site that's no longer viewable. I'm not on a machine at the moment that has Firefox so I can't hunt around for the cache folder, erm, try the help file maybe.

    The Firefox cache doesn't store like the IE one does, it doesn't list filenames as urls. Each cached file is given a Hex number, and then I guess it has some hex-to-url mapping for recalling the page.

    If you use the method above, unfortunately it might delete the files, as it may check to see if there's a newer version online, and it will give a 404 cos the files are gone.

    The cache is in
    <path_to_docs_and_settings_folder>\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<default_profile_name>\Cache

    All you can really do is sort the files by the date they were last accessed, and open them one-by-one in IE or firefox.

    Set this location as a bookmark in firefox:
    javascript:location.href='http://web.archive.org/web/*/'+document.location.href;

    Go to the page that isn't there anymore and press the bookmark.

    It uses The Wayback Machine.
    You could also just type in the address at their homepage,
    but the bookmark is a great thing to have on a toolbar.
