Xbox 360 Modding

    I am looking to get an XBOX 360 that play Japanese games . I either have to buy from Japan or if possible mod it some how. I am very new to 360 so if anybody has can help that would be great.

    If i want to buy a 360 were is the best place to buy a Jap one ?

    Some games are region free, check it out before proceeding any further. Modding looks a long way off, although one of the first mods might be a region free mod.

    Yeah thats called soft modding. I can do that already. I just want to play some import games on the 360.

    it's not softmodding as you dont change any of the (software) files on the HD. It's closer to being a modchip as you are using a hacked version of the eeprom on the DVD drive and that's why people are interested in the possibility of doing something similar for the 360 because it may be something that M$ are not as prepared to defend against.

    region locking is very important to MS so it has the same level of security that applies to preventing backups from playing. Unfortunately you cannot expect a simple region unlocking bootdisc like on the gamecube.
