One of the pcs at work recently stopped turning on, a Dell Optiplex GX60 i believe it is. Took it apart and theres a fex lights working on the inside so i assume the power getting throught the system. Also took off the front panel (with frustrating difficulty) and manually press the the on button on the panel that would normally be touched by the plastic power button. No result.

Has anyone had problems with dell power button panels breaking and how did you guys solve it? (Dell helpline line is like ringing Latvia, they never know what youre talking about).

Is there any way the fire the On button jumpers with a screw driver or anything mad like that to completely rule out anything but this power button panel.

Why would it be the power button? Last thing I would expect to break. When a PC doesn't power up its usually something else. You probably have a few more GX60's why don't you start swapping parts to eliminate them? Did you check if the PC is still under warranty. Was the PC moved recently. New hardware added what?

Exactly what I would have said.

Call support again if it's still under warranty - they are generally quite helpful if you are patient.
