Ex Guarda Cars

Here is an unusual one. First registered to Dublin guardi in October 76. Could it have been a pursuit vehicle?! Not quite as good as it looks-been badly handpainted and gearbox is US. Bought it last September in Cork and had it delivered on a spec lift but unfortunately the chassis bent on the bumpy West Cork roads. Left it lying in a corner until last weekend when fired by enthusiasm and sunshine started to practice with newly aquired mig welder and have repaired chassis after a fashion. Next job-gearbox. Anybody out there got an ex Guarda car?

Very very cool. Particularly the spare wheel cover/picnic table.

DS - I think I spotted your boat flying over Matt Talbot bridge yesterday, and you (I presume) with a phone stuck to your ear!

You know there's penalty points for that!

Photo was taken in Glasheen, Cork, outside previous owners house. Had an interesting thought today. About 98% of all new cars will end up as crushed cubes in 30 years time. Still, they will look the same.

Anyone would want to be mad to buy an ex garda car - those yokes are always nackered even if they are and look fairly new as you would expect with any car that's used 24/7 for three years.

Well actually there's no points for that, should have been but they didnt do it. anyway you cant get penalty points driving a boat.

Anyway, that mad little citroen is certainly different

I saw an old photo before of one of those Garda vans in action. I think it was parked outside the house where Tiede Herrema was being held hostage, but I couldnt be certain.

I presume they used those vans for the same thing as they use(d) the fiesta vans.. carrying around traffic cones!!
