Got a gadget that allows me to hookup a real phone to the PC Via USB. It came with PCPhoneline but it seems to only work with SKype. Does anyone know how to set it up to work with VOIPBUSTER?

It probably doesn't. It could be designed to work with Skype and Skype only.

Will voipbuster only work via your pc either through a headset/usb fone or can you set up a ATA device so you can make calls when your pc is off or does this only work for the likes of Blueface etc?

    Cheers

You can use an ATA with Voipbuster, Voipcheap, Voipstunt and any other incarnations of these guys. You just need to keep an eye out occasionally for which countries are still free to call. Your ATA is just a general tool to connect to any organisations SIP-compatible service so it's important never to buy one that's locked to any particular provider.

    Cheers BHickey
Wasnt sure if you could only use their service via the software you D/L on their site. Off hand do all ata's do the same job or are some better than others, I was looking at Linksys one which is a BB modem/router/ata all in one. I know when Voip first became main stream a lot of people here were talking about being able to set a QOS on that port so you could dedicate a certain amount of bandwidth to be allocated. Can this now be done with the likes of the Linksys and how reliable it it

    Thks Cubix

The brand of ATA that you use won't make a huge difference - the most important thing is to have sufficient reliable bandwidth available so QOS is good to have if the there is likely to be other activity on your broadband connection while VoIP calls are in progress. Having an all-in-one modem/router/ata can limit your options but they are handy. Check the actual model's specs for QOS capability though before committing.
