The Irish Independent reports that Disney scouts are checking out locations in several counties in Ireland for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, the sequel to the $620.4 million worldwide hit.

Irish film industry chiefs are keeping their fingers crossed that Disney will opt for Ireland, since the first film was made in New Zealand and the production spent a lot of money there.

A top industry source was quoted as saying, "The location scouts have been here for two weeks. They have also been looking at sites in Britain.

"They know from previous experience what is available in terms of production facilities in Ireland. We're hoping they will find locations here that suit.

The source continued, "They have to make their minds up pretty soon. They want to start filming by autumn. They want to use the same young actors who played the characters in 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe'

The first film was due to be shot here until the scare with Ireland's tax breaks.

Well, if I read that report right, it said they don't wann go to New Zealand because it cost so much.
That said, I doubht they'll come here.

There's a lot to be said for coming here. High quality crews who are raging for work. Good varied locations. Close to Scotland for even more good varied locations. Close to London for business reasons. Good tax breaks. High level of acting talent both here and in the UK for smaller roles.

They're the reasons it was planned to shoot here in the first place. Ultimately without the tax breaks they couldn't afford to avail of what we had to offer. New Zeland have an excellent tax break system (based on ours in fact) but with ours back up and running they'd be fools not to consider going back to their original plan of shooting in Ireland.

Well the thing is most of the books locations were based on places in Ireland, so why not shoot them here? the thing is, by Ireland they could easily mean the North.

It'd be deadly if they did, cause it would mean a decent premiere in Dublin.

please god they'd get o'connell street finished in time for the premiere, only 2 years late. thanks in no small part to the rioting yobbos.
But it would be great for the local industry to get any fall out work , plus it'd be nice to have people appreciate our stunning scenery aswell, might lead to a tourism boom like new zeleand.

If they did things properly, it'd me one deadly premiere tbh.

Like, it'd most liekly be a wolrd premiere as they usually have it where they do the primary shooting, they'd need O'Connel street to look nice ffs. I mean last few weeks, the buildings vrews have moved on a bit, but there is still stuff to be done.

Have they not started shooting this yet? Those kids must be getting older... actually are the kids in Prince Caspian? It's long time since I read the books.

actually i think it's lucy and the new cousin isn't it, prince caspian then goes on to the voyage of the dawn treader with the cousin cause lucy is too old.

(speaking of aged kids will harry potter be showing a five o'clock shadow in the new movie by the time it's released, there's more news on narnia sequel then the next HP and they are lagging behind.)
