anyone else feeling this? Had a long sleep last night, felt grand this morning but have gone on lunch, eaten lots and then had too much sugary junk food. Ive now fallen into the mid afternoon slump pit of 'eeehhhh'. Id love to have a sleep on my desk and im finding it very hard to pretend that im working or care. Everytime a call comes in to my headset I groan.

Yeah the trick is to not eat too much. Like the driving adds where they say dont have a big meal if you stop just a snack.

Hard though when your s food savage like me!

Coffee does the trick for me..

Yeah, I get the afternoon-meh too (and I didn't eat much at lunchtime). Think I have downloaded just about all of the internet this afternoon (Ebaumsworld is funny)

Think it's a fresh-air thing - would be great to disappear for an hour mid-afternoon for a stroll (nice walking here in Leopardstown), and still be able to leave "on time"

yeah i had been very good the last few weeks not eating to much starchy and sugary foods and being very healthy lots of fruit and green tea but the last week I kinda fell off the wagon and its so bad. I need to get my back fixed up by the chiropractor but i cant cos i hurt my ribs last week. im just sooo sleepy

    Water, water, water...

Tea & Coffee (diuretics) will dehydrate you by making you pee more. Water does the opposite and will wake you up.

Ah there are plusses to being the entire IT department :) I'm having a nice quiet afternoon for a change, but it's giving me a chance to catch up on things I've had to put off for ages.

nice one kaiser id love that. ive all my work done, sitting here taking calls trouble is my boss sits behind me an expects us to create work related things to do for those couple of seconds between calls (which I feel is best spent surfing the net!). thankfully some lovely manager called a meeting so ive a nice hour here

I agree ...waters a great option. Even the walk to go and get some will wake you up a bit. Either that or give in and go to sleep.....when the calls come in customers will just have to listen to you snore! :D

Am just not bothered working anymore. Done enough to cover my botty so am just gonna doss and do the minimal amount this afternoon.

that must have been some call centre you worked in. We cant download anything onto these pc's. Try running webmessenger and the pc's practically come to a standstill. Most dont even have net access!!!

Damit ...if IT here are as quiet as you, I think I might give em a buzz and get them to sort out all them little problems they've been puttin on the long finger!

Well if it makes you feel any better the 2nd callcentre I worked in was like the one you're in now! :(

Plus normally I'm up to my eyes in PC's here.. 60 new ones set up since I came back after the Xmas break. 15 more arriving tomorrow, so I'm enjoying it while it lasts :D

A Poppet is a smallish chocolate covered ball...with a flavoured centre mint and raisen ones are all I've seen here. There are many different flavours in England tho!
