    Hi Folks

Dont know if ye can help me but i am looking for a reliable and reputable TV/SKY installation/repair man in Drogheda ,Louth

In the folks house ,they have sky ,normal tv and tv in kitchen feeding off the main tv.
Outside the house and behind the tv there is a maze of wires which need a professional to remove/tidy up and make everything work correctly

Some times i have dodgy sky reception, then dodgy tv reception,if tv in main room is powered off, then the tv in kitchen wont work

Various handymen and friends have done "botched " jobs in the past to fix it up but i now want to get it done professionally, working properly /remove any un-needed wires
I have a pain in my face with the amount of wires and hassle .
Want a reliable repair man who wont just do a temporary measure

thanks to anyone who can help

a repair man would do me either, as long as it not some chancer who will make the matters worse, the amount of wires and stray cables is unreal in the parents house .

i see the previous poster has offered a mobile number ..dont know if its legit or not or somebody on a wind up,i dont want to ring the number if its a hoax.never really seen mobile numbers being flashed around on posts

    again thanks for the help

Well usually numbers & email are by PM.

Anyone offering advice with a very low post count obviously needs considering causiously.

Why not just phone Sky themselves. might be more expensive but at least you know they know what they are doing.

Just because somebody works "for" SKY doesn't make them a expert installer! The amount of lazy and unsightly installations by so called experts has become a joke! ie mini dish above front door! etc etc etc

I would not advise that, You should read this post about installers that sky themselves use

The only reason to ring Sky direct would be to wheedle new free box. Otherwise a reputable repair person / specialist FTA installer is better.

Interestingly the best repair outfit I know in Limerick don't fix satellite receivers unless the customer begs...

Back it up if it's rubbish.
I have moved 3 times and sky moved the dish each time for me, nice bloke, on first name terms with him at this stage. You might have had a bad expeirence or something i dunno but just to rubbish someones suggestion is immature and rude.

well why dont you back up your original statement, I know what I'm talking about as I've spent long hours rectifying poor installations by sky engineers. Are you seriously saying all sky engineers know what they are doing based on your experience with one "nice bloke"? That really is rubbish! As I've said many times before people rely on this forum for accurate information not badly thought out opinion masquerading as fact. I dont need to back anythiong up as there are many threads here discussing the ineptitude of sky's engineers. I've had many, many yrs of bad experiences with these guys I think that qualifies me to give an informed opinion.

I did back up my statement based on my experience, you had your own experiences therefore you are entitled to your opinion. I don’t have to agree with you, you don’t have to agree with me. But slagging me off helps nobody. I don’t say your opinion is rubbish so I would kindly ask that you respect the opinions of others before you just brand their posts "rubbish"

It is quite apparent by the fact that you have a link to satellite.ie that you are advertising either your company or someone you work for but as a business person myself, you must be clutching at straws to slag off competition if you cant advertise positively.

What is apparent is that it is very obvious that you know little about me or my business, I dont slag off the competition as I do not compete with sky installers and I do not provide service is the drogheda area. I called your statement rubbish because it is unfounded. You stated "Why not just phone Sky themselves. might be more expensive but at least you know they know what they are doing." You have no way of knowing this as you said yourself you have only had contact with one installer and if you had bothered to research the subject by reading the other threads on the subject (they used much stronger language criticising skys installers than I do) you would know this not to be the case. If the OP had gone to sky and paid good money for a bad job would you accept responsibility for your misleading statement?

Of course you are entitled to your opinion buy saying sky's installers know what they are doing based on your extremely limited experience of one installer could not go without retort as its clearly not supported by the experiences of many people here. Relaying your experience without generalising would have been the way to go surely.

I've always been happy with the service from Kosmos. The owner is Theodore Taktikos, and they're based in the Abbey center. I haven't used him for over a year now, so I don't know if he's still going, but the numbers I have are 041-9841002 and 087-2576018,

Theo has been in the business a long time and I've heard nothing but good things about him.

Although, the first time you meet him, he may come across as a little brusque, and his accent can, at times, be a bit difficult to understand. However, he knows his stuff, works clean & fast and turns up when he says he will.

You should definately try NCM Communications in Tullyallen. Their num is 041 9846030. Nice bunch of people and very good at what they do. I've had a couple of SKY related jobs done by them and have referred friends to them too. Never any probs.

the name and number is all legit ...i had a personal fitting and just like andrew 1977 i had posted a " moving to Drogheda need installer " post a while back. unfortunately for me i didnt get this much response for my own post. fair dinkum. i had to rely on finding my own the hard way. When i saw this post I had to just write 2 lines giving the vital info so as to help a bro in need. anyways in my own particular case ... i am reading these forums to get a better understanding and hopefully do my own install of my 1.2m motorsed dish....If there are any enthusiasts / amateurs who are already persuading their hobby and have a nice dish setup up n running in drogheda and would be kind enough to show and impart some knowledge in person, it would be hughely appreciated.
