Disappointing, would have been nice to see the Orion in action. Am pretty much apathetic to atlantis at this stage, don't really expect much anymore considering this entire season has been at worst terrible and at best meh and that is a real shame because i loved the first season

I reckon Michael didn't know about the plot (why else have that scene with Teyla and Ronin?). What I think will happen is the following:

    * Shephard docks with the hive ship with McKay and Ronin on it
    * Michael frees McKay and Ronin.
    * Michael releases the gas on his own ship, turning the crew into humanised Wraith.
    * Shepherd brings McKay and Ronin out with a Wraith scout ship.
    * Orion turns up, blows up other hive ship.
    * Michael kills his queen, becomes leader of a new Wraith group; the humanised Wraith.

    That would be my guess.

    Thought it was good.
Had thought a wraith mighta made a alliance when seen it was called allies. However , didnt see the end twist. Thought they mighta turned, but never thought it woulda been till earth. Also thought it a bit funny with McKay & the asguard guy
Can't wait until next episode now :D

Way better than the putrid tripe they're churning out on SG1 at the moment. Its not like it was well hidden that the wraith would turn on them but I liked the battle's.

Was cool to see the Daedelus in comparison to a Hive.

    Speekah da english, User45701? :)

Felt like a regular episode until the last 10 minutes, then kicked up 5 gears. Very strong end to a weak half-season. It'll be interesting to see if they make it to earth (doubt it, tbh).

Only a so so episode for me I have to say. It's not like the Asgard would just watch the Wraith eat all the humans on Earth... A few Asgard and Earth ships would dispatch a hive ship no probs I would have thought.

    Excellent episode tbh.

I was waiting throughout the whole episode to see when the Wraith would actually turn on them. Didnt think it was to get info on Earth though, very smart on the Wraith part. We now know that at least a fraction of the Wraith (the ones that were sided with Michael's wraith) know the location of Atlantis and also our Galaxy. It would be no surprise to me if they launched another attack upon Atlantis and also begin to proceed towards Earth.... in the next season

Once again, the Aura mission reports and whatever message they had is important. The wraith specifically looked for that (and the location of Earth) so I'm assuming that that will possibly come back to play a role in season 3.

McKay and Hermiad were fantastic together tbh. McKay asking if Hermiad was finished was excellent :D

I thought this one was okay until I engaged my brain. Enterprise was better in plots lines most of the time. The skip of a month from the last episode was barely evident (except for Rodneys short whinging about it takeing a month to get the Orions drives working AND up to a decent intersteller travel speed)

On no! Two wraith hive ships are heading to our galaxy! What shall we do! considering the Pegasus galaxy was enough to keep the whole populace of the wraith going for awhile between hybernations. I suppose they can act as a second storyline intead of ****e filler episodes. I shouldn't complain about filler episodes much but they've become the description of the ****e episodes when nothing good happens, after all, filler episodes are what alot of the first half of Stargate was about and they had some really excellent stories! WTF happened to them?

I doubt it. Assended beings being defeated in one series? It took them 8 series to kick g'ould ass and even now they aren't gone. (The Baal episodes are still quite good, he needs to be more of an intelligent badass like he used to be. Atlantis = Wraith storyline. SG-1 = Ori Storyline with some cross over of course...... Unless.... they combine!!!!! OrAith! I think not, it'll go more like "Oh noe! There are two forces in this galaxy that could destroy our planet if they could be arsed! Hey! Let's go to this unexplored planet and see what's happening there!" Queue ****e.

This seasons Atlantis started off okay but was dire overall. If they gave some good dilogue/roles to Weir, Ronin and Teyla it might improve. Or perhaps in Ronin's case, the least amount of speach and screen time the better. He can just have a moody/"I told you so" look whenever the camera is on him. Teyla could have more emotional developtment (hell, everone could have more character development) if they spread a story over more than one episode. After a series or two even Weir might not be so hollow. Seasons seven's Weir seemed to have more actiing abilty then the current.

I'm actually quite pissed off at the story lines in the stargate universe. After quite awhile, it's the only thing I started to look forward to that was aired on TV. I enjoyed the first three seasons of Enterprise more than the last 2 of atlantis and the current one of SG-1.

Hermiad is the character I like most in atlantis right now. Ronin should be more like him, less of an asshole, more of a "why the **** didn't you listen to me" Actually! He has very little screen time and few lines! Sounds good to me.

Aint the deadalus faster than the hive ships??? They needa make hyperspace jumps aint they?? wouldnt it take months for them to travel the distance to earth at hyperspace speed?? Am sure they'll figure sumfin out to get past shields & maybe promethius come along too if there is a crossover.

Like McKay said "I've hacked a lot of the systems under the guise of repairing them" , maybe engines or weapons was one of them.

    /QUOTE]

AurORa :) And if I remember rightly they wanted the data from it in order to work out how to travel at inter-galactic speeds (So far only attainable by Ancient and Asgard engines). That + location of earth = entire point.

Thought it was decent, nothing special but not bad.

True, they did use the Aurora ship to attempt to get the upgraded hyperdrive, but the method to upgrade to that wouldn't be contained in its mission reports, otherwise the wraith that went into Aurora wouldn't have had to go along with the charade.

Its late so that probably came out so wrong.

I'll try to refine here into a couple of sentences:

The Aurora mission logs wouldn't contain the upgraded hyperdrive as the wraith that pretended to be an Aurora crew member tried to convince the captain to upgrade the engines. If you recall, the Aurora mission logs might contain the weakness that the wraith have, or at least the location of were they got it.

However, considering the general state of the plot this season, I cant guess what those hopped out "writers" will come up with.

The Asgard guy interacting with McKay is priceless, but I cant help feeling that they should have chosen a really corny name for him like "Elvis":D

Think thats gonna be the main point of the wraith been miffed in Season 3 alright.

One ofthe funniest bits in SG-A alright "assisted" *chuckle*

Have to say that come on how gulable is Wier - she is after falling for so many dupes that they are having a laugh at this stage.
Interesting though that Zulenca siad he was sciming the index.......wonder what he found and if the McCay found out more in an hr than 2yrs imagine what the Asgard fella learned.........once again dunn dunnn....yada.yada.

    Whens season3 starting:v:

If they put all the Wraith stuff in a non-networked computer, then how did the virus find the info? Also, how the hell did they let this virus in, even though they checked the download for viruses? Still, a good episode though. I was waiting for when the double-cross would occur. Thought that the first ship the 'friendly' Wraith attacked might be in on the deal. Who knows, maybe the whole Wraith already know about Atlantis and they just haven't attacked in order to get the information they needed.

For the next episode, which is in June or July I think Nukem, I'd imagine that Sheppard will somehow dock and free McKay and Ronan, then McKay can use his hacks in the Wraith ship to somehow drop the jamming signal so they can be beamed out, and the anti-Wraith gas or nukes beamed in. Will Orion even play a part I wonder?

enjoyed this episode, it was the best of a bad bunch

but the more i think about it the more stupid plot holes appear (as usual)

still at least its a decent cliffhanger

Enjoyable finale. It's not brilliant - the double-cross was obvious - but still a bit of fun and above the standard that's plagued most of this season. It not only pushed the arc along, but also some character development - I'm surprised noone else has commented on McKay volunteering, quite bravely, for the mission because someone had to do it.

The team worked well here - everyone had their part to play, and that's important in such a team-based show. Sure they were a bit too gullible, but I'll let it slide. And as to getting a virus around a non-networked computer... *shrug* I've just watched an episode of "24" and, by comparison, SGA's computer is fine..

I anctipate a token cross-over for the season opener, but probably nothing more than Landry in the SGC. I imagine the Wraith will be stopped before then, although it'd make for an interesting premise if they weren't...

All in all, a satisfying end to a season that I've had mixed feelings about. If nothing else, it leaves me less apathetic to season three..

Very good season finale - loved the interaction between McKay and Hermiad (The Asgard). :D

I could see the cliffhanger aspect to it coming but, IMO, it was done well.

Is it only the 2 hive ships that are attempting to reach earth or are there more on the way from different locations?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭senordingdong

I thought it was a huge dissapointment.
They would not have trusted the Wraith and this is definatly one of the dumbest things I've ever seen on Stargate.

On the other hand though, the rest of the plot, the script and the interaction was good but overall, this epiosde was as poor as this season has been in general. It's a shame that in the space of one season Atlantis has gone from gripping to just entertaining.

Also, what was the story with Michael? Was he the leader of a ship or a high ranking officer or what?
