Did you mean Ment, Menth or Meant

Why the fúck can people not spell the word 'meant' properly..... :mad:
Is 'ment' some form of sms-texting lingo or something that I am unaware of? The amount of posts with this spelling is beyond me....

i wouldnt think "meant" is the most obviously misspelled word around, cant think of one off hand, but people misspell words by accident eg 'teh'

This is one error I was never sure of. I guess I just never took the time to look it up. I supose it makes sense now, meant = mean with a t. Thanks for the warning.

are both ways correct: misspelled/misspelt spilled/spilt learned/learnt
and do they have the same meaning

just i never know which to use so i stick with the -ed end!

The worst (kind of spelling and grammar combined) I've seen is "should of/would of/could of" and "persay".

Only the -ed endings are correct. I can't believe people can't conjugate English verbs properly.

As I discovered, spelt is in the dictionary not just as wheat but as spelled. Like dealt.

who cares how you spell it once we know wat you mean or 'ment'. cant understand why people get so obsessive bout spelling on the net...let it go. spelling properly is for work and stuff when you have a spell checker
