Im looking to buy the wife a laptop purely for surfing the web wirelessly. Decent battery life would be nice but not essential. Apart from that nothing special needed,just ability to surf from comfort of living room. On that note,im sure with my eircom 3072/384 broadband it will be sufficient for her to browse and myself…

she can browse at the same time yes,

i can have one torrent running at 40k download and 20 upload and play cs with little difference to my ping (maybe about 10ms) so casual browsing shouldn't do any harm at all. (on the same connection as you but with BT)
