iAUDIO X5 on/off LCD problem

Just need to check something with you X5 owners out there...

Has anyone ever had any trouble with "Black Screen of Death" on powerup? With my unit, occasionally when I power up with the switch in a non-hold position (i.e. the switch is floating half-way), this can happen. The X5 definately powers up, as it's set to auto-play, and a track plays as expected.

It then usually takes a few power-ups/downs to get the LCD screen working normally again.

So, does this look like a definate fault with my X5, or is it just something finicky with the power-up procedure that I'm missing?

Doesn't sound like a common fault to me. I'd bring it back where you bought it and get it sorted.

Cheers Bard. Seeing as you're the resident X5 owner here, how are you finding video playback? I also seem to have trouble playing MP4 files. Does every file have to be converted to the native X5 audio format by JetAudio, or should I be able to play any file just by downloading without conversion to the X5?

Not any more, I'm not. I've brought mine back and as soon as I get credit for it (it was faulty) I'm upgrading to an A2. I know a fair bit about them though, as I sell them...

You have to convert every file using JetAudio.
