Myself and a group of friends (mid 20's) are looking to book our summer holidays in the next few weeks and are thinking about Ayia Napa in August. I've heard many mixed reports on it being much more expensive than similar holiday resorts in Spain. I've also heard that it's gettings more quiet each summer and turning into a family resort. How much of this is true? We're looking for a mad, drink all night, sleep all day type of holiday. Is Napa the right spot to be going? Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated. Some holidays pics from there would be even better.;)

One of the BEST holidays i ever had ... great spot, no fighting, felt very save even though there were THOUSANDS of people in the streets drinking. The clubs are great, Make sure to go to the late bar Reggae River, it's a bar with swimming pools, OH & go to the Jasmine Palanec, its a bar that looks like a tree from outside, it's a great spot.. one thing about Aiya Napa though is be carefull over there cause the cops don't take any sh@t & are known for bad beatings when tourists get arrested, if you're going for the two weeks I'd recommend doing the Egypt Cruise, something else! Where are you thinking of staying?

great spot, lovely food and some gorgeouse beaches. the currency is cypriot sterling so beers, burgers and sandwiches average out at 3 pounds which is 5 eurosh (dear enough).
but you can get a really nice meal out at night for about 18 pound which is good value even after conersion.

I was there a couple of years ago, and loved it - however we weren't out for the drink-fest you seem to be. It is quite expensive there alright, a dinner out wasn't usually much cheaper than it is here - but it depends on what you are looking for.

I thought it was actually changing from a quiet family resort to a younger resort, rather than the other way around. If you go during peak season there should be a lots of clubs, but when we were there (October), the clubs were a fairly standard affair and it wasn't like the resorts you see on the TV. Personally that's a bonus for me, but it doesn't sound like what you are looking for.

The beach there (Nissy beach I think it's called) is absolutely fantastic. It was listed in the top 20 beaches in the world in some magazine a couple of years ago. The water is waist deep for several hundred metres out. Well worth getting out of bed for if you can manage it.
