Sky Movies 9 no longer available on Chorus. this is because you now need a PIN to access these movies that have a 15 or more rating. movies start at 5 weekdays on satellite.

Very same message here. It goes on to state that (animated at that in the sky colours) NTL will launch SkyMovies 10 next month. Both Movies 9 and 10 would require PIN activation each time they are viewed, it goes on to provide the freefone no. to request your PIN.

why though would they require a pin for all movies. for example Sky Movies 10 currently has a 12 rated movie on at 9pm. whats the point in these channels

It says it on the channel, something about broadcasting law and having to have a pin per movie, which they can only do per channel, cant remeber exactly what it said.

indeed, the idea is for the channels to show 15 rated films before 8pm

tomorrow sees on Sky Movies 10
    5.05pm Taxi (12)
7pm Jingle All The Way (PG)
    9pm Stuck On You (12)
    11pm Taxi (12)
1am Jingle All The Way (PG)

not one movie that is at least over 15

Sky Movies 10 is showing 1 over 15's movie, The Devils Own but at 9pm, after the watershed anyway. these channels are pointless

I received a letter from NTL today informing me of the changes to the Movie package, along with new EPG numbers. They also sent me my PIN. Related to this, today my box also upgraded to support this PIN blocking, Sky Movies 10 is now showing up as PIN blocked!

    Nope.
It's either last four digits of card, or if you had an eariler card, the last four digits of it.

I rang them and they set the password to 0000 and when I entered that on screen, they asked me to change it. No hassle at the customer service end either
