Lst night when I booted my PC I was told by the nVidia Sentinel program that my graphics card wasn't recieving enough power. I have an XFX GeForce 6800GS and this power supply. Surely this PSU should be sufficient.

Yes, that PSU should have no trouble providing power.

Has it always worked correctly up until last night or did you just buy the card?

Its in a new rig I put together. Only played FEAR on it once so far (huge improvement on perfrmance over my old PC). PC has only been booted maybe twice sonce GFX card and drivers were installed. Had no problems until I booted last night. I assume the PCI-E connector from the PSU is all the connections that are required.

The 6-pin PCI-E connector is all you should need to connect to it. You sure its properly connected?

I'll double check the conections tonight and see what happens.

As Stephen said, it sounds like the 6-pin power connector plugging directly onto the card may not be right, though I would have thought that FEAR wouldn't have run properly w/o it.

Actually, I was running Far Cry and Black and White 2 for about a month on mine, and it was only when I tried to install Linux that I found out it required a power connector:o . Sometimes it will work without one.

    Definately not recommended!!

Although I have a 256mb x800 (got it off Stephen here actually), and it doesn't even need to be connected to the psu...powered from the pci-e slot. handy that

Yeah, the vanilla X800 doesn't have any inputs for extra power, as it doesn't need it. I'd imagine X800XL/XT/GTO or whatever would require it.
