    So played this satelitte on Interpoker yesterday, €333 in 34 players, 1st gets a 6k package, 2nd €2660 and 3rd €1560.

Down to the final three when I get involved in this hand,

    Game #1553062094: Hold'em NL (400/800) - 2006/01/28 - 16:42:11 (ET)
Table "EPT Deauville Final 1755927 - 1" Seat 1 is the button.
Seat 1: KenoKingP (11151.94 in chips)
Seat 3: Eoinak (23343.74 in chips)
Seat 4: Hyde (50504.32 in chips)
    Eoinak: posts the ante 100
    Hyde: posts the ante 100
    KenoKingP: posts the ante 100
    Eoinak: posts small blind 400
    Hyde: posts big blind 800
    HOLE CARDS
    dealt to Eoinak [Ac Ks]
    KenoKingP: folds
    Eoinak: raises to 2400
Hyde: raises to 50404.32 and is all-in
    Eoinak: is all-in 20843.74
Returned uncalled bets 27,160.58 to Hyde
    FLOP
    [5c 9s 3d]
    TURN
    [5c 9s 3d][7s]
    RIVER
    [5c 9s 3d 7s][9h]
    SHOW DOWN
Hyde: shows [5s 5h] (A Full House, Fives full of Nines)
Eoinak: shows [Ac Ks] (A Pair of Nines, Ace high)
Hyde collects 46787.48 from Main pot
    SUMMARY
Total pot 46787.48 Main pot 46787.48 Rake 0
    Board [5c 9s 3d 7s 9h]
Seat 1: KenoKingP (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 3: Eoinak (small blind) lost
Seat 4: Hyde (big blind) showed [5s 5h] and won (46787.48) with A Full House, Fives full of Nines

So whats my line like here? Once he moves in I pretty much know that he has a small pair, my reason for calling was that I figure if I win the race I am definately winning the seat.

But on reflection I think I could have folded and waited for Keno to bust before taking on Hyde heads up.

Full report on the blog for anyone who cares.

Incidentally is anyone going to Deauville? If so does it look like its going to fill up like copenhagen, or is it safe to wait untill you travel to register?

Ouchies. I've been in this same spot in big satelites 2 years in a row. and come third missing the overlay and getting nothing both times. It bloody stings. :(

Considering the fact that your have twice the chips of the player in third I would fold here. Your stack is still relatively deep and the chip leader is being overaggressive and quite obviously has serious blow up potential. That said he is never going to be pushing without a pair or AK here. You can basically never hope to be up agianst AQ so I think you are giving up an edge you should have over a hyperaggressive oponent by taking the race. I would have called him with TT here but not AK.

Can you be sure of this? With this read I think you have to fold, because of the payout structure and the short stack. However if he is smart and he knows you are smart, he is going to push you around quite a bit here, because he knows you will fold an awful lot of hands. If he starts doing this a lot I insta-call him with AK.

Antes Up will be there to report live. They can take 500 players so you should be alright registering over there. Make sure you make us aware of your presence so we can update on your progress.

Yeah the more I think about it the more I prefer to fold, I think its marginal though, to be honest villain had been pushing an awful lot and his stack had come from a terribly played third pair against an even worse played flush draw. From playing with him I think aq was a possibiliity but I still think the fold was a better play due to the fact that I probably could have waited for a better spot against him.

And as far as luck in satellites, goes last year I got the bubble twice in the crypto wsop sats, six plus huors each time for not a bean, the best one being 12 players left 10 seats on offer I have the chip lead when I find AA, instead of just folding my way to a seat like a perfectly sane person would do I manage to get in a massive pre flop pot with third in chips player whose ak connects to cripple me.

Im sure of the read as his play on the final table was all in any pair 22 through jj, as for him being smart have to say he was a poor player, but that just makes me an idiot for taking a 50/50 against him.
