Its the graphics card alright. You can buy a cheap enough card that will run the game if you dont wanna go the full way and get a 6800GS(€280). An ATI 9550 will work about €80 new I think, or a 6600 (which cost more again).

i bought a club3d x800RX off komplett for €163. runs everything on high. smooth as a baby's bum too.

If your gonna buy a new one mate, you may as well look at is as an investment.

Although a good card will be dearer, it will last you a long time and saving you having to upgrade again in a few months when the cheap one you buy instead fails to run the games.

250 isnt much for a card that could last you the next 3 years ;) , and it will easily play BF2 on everything high,

    Trust me, i know :);)

Invest in a good one, its worth it

here I understand that this is not ebay - i'm not expecting people to bid, i'm expecting that if anyone is genuinely nterested in buying this card to make me an offer for it.. no one makes me an offer that I think is the value of the card - and I know the value of an AGP gfx card mate no matter what you lot may think - don't try and teach your granny to suck eegs. then i'll sell it on e-bay..

all i'm doing is letting some people here know about the card first.. now make the rules more clear, I understand guide to mean just that it's a guide.. now if there is a problem with this just delete this thread and forget about it, I couldn't give a toss tbh..

or you could spend 100-140 euro and get a 6800 LE not a mean beast by any standards but it works and works well and will play most recent games at medium to high at ok quality.

make sure you know what slot your PC uses (AGP or PCI-Express) etc.

Komplett have just put a new PCI-E GPU on there weekly offers that looks good for just over 200 euro. Am thinking of changing my 6600gt for it.

    Gainward GeForce 6800GS 256MB GDDR3 PCI-Express,"Ultra/2300PCX XP",425Mhz

Did you have the demo installed and did you un-install it before installing the retail game? I had awful probs installing BF2, it kept crashing just after I would choose to go online. I figured out it was that I still had the Demo installed and it was conflicting with it. It was giving me two options to play #1 was play BF2 online now & #2 play BF2, just go for the straight play BF2 and from there choose multiplayer, with my machine it always crashes if I choose the play BF2 online now
