Hey I'm creating a site that will involve user voting. Could anyone suggest the best language to learn/use for this?

    Your supreme intelligence is appreciated.

I'm doing a site based on users voting and im writing it with PHP. Im only learning php at the moment so im probably not the best person to be advising on this but it will do the job nicely if you have months to spend learning it ;) . You could always use something like mambo that has standard features for setting up user voting as far as i know but i've never used it.

What languages are you familiar with?
What languages and databases does your host support?
Many people here will recommend either ASP or PHP but there are many more.

Given all the information you've given us, the answer is any server side language or platform will probably do.

There's probably some nice open-source app that'll do it all for you.

What nationality is the site aimed at?
