I'm trying to create a link to a flash video on this website. It's in the 2005 section, Wir Sind Helden - Nur Ein Wort. The whole site seems to be a flash animation however, is it possible to link directly to this video?

As you've quessed it cant be done as the site is a self contained SWF file, the http:// address doesnt change when the content does, you're out of luck I'm afraid.

A flash decomplier would allow you to extract the movie.

And as you incorrectly guessed, it is not a self contain site. Movies would never be self contained in a Flash site coz that would take an age to download...
The movies are stored as streamable swf files which are really just avi's that you can stream, and are loaded into the main Flash site, either into a sprite or a 'level'.
All the swf files are stored in the folder: http://www.filmlounge.de/teile/swf/

Get a program like SurfOffline, WebRipper or Memorize Complete Website Copier v1.01 to download the complete site with all the swf's in that folder.

It's a protected folder so you wont be able to browse by pasting into your address bar...

Ok I tried this with 2 different programs but it didn't work. It told me it was forbidden. I guess it's just not possible.

The site is self contained in so far as the web address doesnt change, therefore there is no independant address to link to,whether the movies are part of the file is irrespective, he asked could he link to the movie, not rip and decompile the movie,. I answered that question, you made up your own one.

Self contained means that everything associated with the site is stored in one file, this is clearly not the case because of the fact that the swf's are stored in http://www.filmlounge.de/teile/swf/, the images are stored in http://www.filmlounge.de/teile/pics/, and the html is stored in http://www.filmlounge.de/teile/html/, which means there are many files associated with this site. I know where you're coming from but you're just using the wrong terminology...

Take the pics folder, for example. You cant access the main folder but you can access the files inside if you know the name of the file:
http://www.filmlounge.de/teile/pics/noFlash.gif So there's your link, same applies to flash files...

He can link to the movie, he just needs to find out what the actual file name is called, its there, you can find it, but because its Flash, it wont be easy. As tba suggested, a Flash decompiler would do the trick coz the link would be inside the main movie. I'll have a look into it and see if i can rip a few of the links for ya.

Alternatively, you could just email the webmaster and he'll probably tell you what the link is... :)
