Just a link to a sweet rfactor movie.
Ive recently got back into rfactor after recent patches and must say it is awesome.
Same engine as GTLegends but far more variety of classes.
    Its perfect for modders too.
The recently released Porshe Challenge Cup is particularly brilliant.

Bahh. I've tried, and failed, four times to download the damn demo :( Will I ever get hold of it?

I can fully recommend the full game to you Balfa.
You can download it and but your activation key for 35 euros.
Trust me the demo is not worth it as it is ancient and light years behind what rfactor is now.
It is outstanding and has overtaken GTL as my alltime favourite sim.
Such vaiety in the racing and ofcourse THE best pjysics engine.

There are only 43 people playing rFactor online in the world right now. Is this normal? Online racing seems to be a big part of rFactor, but if I can't be guaranteed immediate competition for the next few years, I don't know if I can justify 35 euros.

What different racing classes does it come with?

Trust me there are more than 43 m8.
to find out about rfactor i recommend these links.

    http://www.rfactor.net/

The game ships with GT syle series, trainers which are like formula ford,Formula 3,F1,V8 style muscle cars etc.

Now these are not officially called F1 etc but are effectively these series, liscencing issues tbh.
Many many mods are available as rfactor is a modders dream.
My personal favourite is the Porsche mod, it is outstanding.
There are 100s of tracks out for it already also including GTlegends tracks converted over.

If you like GTL,just think of rfactor as GTL physics mixed with many racing series.
It is ISIs baby and they do look after it,constantly adding to the game.
Incase you dont know ISI built the engine that GTL and rfactor uses ie Gmotor 2.0.

I promise if you like GTL you will love it.
