does anyone know the exact cards that make up Dead Mans Hand.

I know it's aces, eights and the queen(I think) of hearts. but does anyone know what suit the aces and the eights have to be in?

I tihnk The Aces and 8s were both the black suits. The 5th card was the Jack of diamonds.

well AFAIK there are. theres a game called Dead Mans Hand poker, I think it's played like 5 card draw except dead mans hand beats the royal flush. I was talking to someone before about that, and it is a lot easier to get dead mans hand (aces and eights) than it is to get a royal flush. he said that's because you have to get the exact cards. I dunno maybe there isn't an 'exact' dead mans hand' but I do know that if you want to call it dead mans hand you have to have the something of hearts, and it's either the king or queen

    Taken from google:

Legend holds that Wild Bill Hickok was shot to death during a poker game in Deadwood, South Dakota, and that the hand he held was two pair, black aces and black eights. On that most people agree. The fifth card is not known for certain. In order of credibility, the following kickers have been suggested:

    Five of Diamonds
The actual card is supposedly on display in Deadwood, previously on display at the Stardust in Las Vegas.
    Nine of Diamonds
Listed below in the glossary, this card was supposedly reported by first hand accounts, and is used in a recreation in Deadwood.
    Queen of Clubs
On display at Ripley's Believe it or Not.
    King of Spades
Appeared in the 1936 movie The Plainsman with Gary Cooper as Hickok.

having done some research I have decided that as far as I am concerned the kicker was the Queen of hearts. it was mentioned more times than any other possible card
