Fintan, what's the deal with 30% reg fee, plus an additional reg fee on the rebuy/top-up? Are you just trying to get more people to play online at Boyles?

I went to the Red Cow last night without knowing how badly we were being raped. Last time for me, gl.

Hi Fixer(I dont know your real name)

You are corect with your figures. It is a 30% fee we charge on these particular events. And yes we do charge a reg on top-ups/re-buys. However what you are incorect about is players getting raped, or anything near it.
While 30% may seem like a big percentage in real terms its €15. For this €15 players get in my opinion the best run tournaments available in Ireland at the moment. Let's break it down. Professional dealer at every table. Proper chips, tables, cards, buttons etc. Internationally reconized director. If a ruling has to made players know it's going to be the right one. Consider the well thought out slow structure, refreshments in a comfortable setting and clearly displayed graphics with up to date information on the event. Players do pay what I would call a hefty percentage, but actually do get very good value for money. 100% of the players money is guaranteed to be paid out with a chip count at the final table.
I will finish with three brief points,
    1) These smaller events do NOT make profit. Add it up, do a quick calculation on the overheads. I challenge you to provide anything near the same service at the same cost.
    2) All pokerevents freezeouts are no more than 10% reg fee.
    3) It dissappoints me to hear a player not impressed with our tournaments, but your description of players being raped is totally wrong. These are well run proper structured tournaments with a guarantee that the players get 100% of the prizemoney.
    Regards.
    Fintan Gavin.

okay, I'll give in that "raped" was a tad harsh...but at least gimme a reach-around next time. The €10 fee on the rebuy/topup is the one that gets to me. I'll still stick to the online sats. Or I may be bluffing. I'm not sure yet :)

I hear that Pokerevents run one of the best tournaments around. For my two cents as long as the requested reg fees are upfront which they are then I beleive it is a choice whether to play or no. Good Job Fintan

Oh, I wasn't implying they snuck the fees in. It was fully posted, and the events are indeed well run. I'm just being a squeaky wheel.
