Volume Keys Not Working

Hi, I have a Sony Vaio fs315 running XP home. I seem to have disabled the volume keys, ie pressing Fn and F3 and F4 no longer works. i have to cahnge the volume by using the icon in the task bar. Any ideas? Ra.
