I'm planning on going over to Paris for 4 days from the 8th-12th of Feb for a friends birthday and was wondering if anyone had come across any good, affordable places to stay. I'm open to all ideas but am on a tight budget...

    Thanks for any help

    I stayed here: http://www.reservations.bookhostels.com/redflag.info/hosteldetails.php/HostelNumber.3298

Very, very basic but I found it clean. I stayed in 2 different rooms (a pokey single bed room and a double en-suite) during my stay, neither bed was particularly comfortable but I got what I paid for and I was delighted with it. Actually I think the uncomfortable bed was largely due to the pillows if they could have been called that...

I found it central, I was able to walk most places and it's very near for tube stations. There's different areas to Paris so it's possibly not 'central' as such but you should possibly research which part of Paris you intend to be hanging round in.

What exactly is a 'tight budget' ?

And 'central' isn't alway that clear either as wouldn't it be better to stay loser to your friends place maybe?

Some people say 'central' and close to the Tower without realising that it's about a hour walk to the Tower from center of town :)

Hmm this question was asked recently im sure...

Anyway same answer.. Ibis Hotels!! I stayed at the one at Gare du nord... far enough from the main attractions to be cheaper.. but on metro line so only minutes from anywhere.

Depends what your budget is but Jardin le Brea Hotel is cheap for what you get, the rooms are pretty small but the location is great

I booked "Hotel des Iles" via ebookers - it was around 40 euro per night and was ok for the 1 night - decent and well equipped area only 5 minutes from Metro Cambronne area but old / tired hotel...

Very nice little apartment very close to the Pompidou Centre. Easy to get to (local Metro station is "Chatalet")

    100 euro per night.

Stayed in the Village in a double room. Found it clean and defo cheap! Located in Montmartre, so it is central plus its a beautiful area.
