    The icons on my desktop seem to have just deleted themselves, leaving only a few, anyone have any idea why?:(

    Did you, or someone else using the computer do it by accident? Have you checked the recycle bin? Are they really deleted, or have the icons disappeared and the text below them remained?

    Desktop cleanup (not sure how it turned itself on, I always have it off) did this to me once, got rid of things that I hadn't used in a while (was on holiday at the time) - shortcuts and whatnot.

    There should be a folder on your desktop called "Unused Desktops Items", look in there and you should find all your icons, and then just drag and drop them back on to your desktop

    That is presuming you have Win XP
