I downloaded a game that worked for a friend of mine and when I clicked the icon the screen froze. I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del and the screen went blue.

    REGISTRY_ERROR 0x00000051

I can't start the pc in any mode and I don't have a boot disk. Can anybody please help me for the love of god? Can I download a boot disk or what?
My pc has windows xp pro (I'll get bill gates for this).

Was this game legally downloaded or a pirate copy?

have you tried a roll back or starting in safe mode?

If nothing else works, it looks like it may be a reinstall of windows.
Hope you have windows on a seperate partition.

If you only have one partition with windows and all your data on it, try get a knoppix disk and an external hardrive from a mate or burn everything onto cds through knoppix.

    best of luck.

boot into the safe mode menu by tapping F8 after you start up , they first try last good option , if this does not work try safe mode and go into system restore and try different restore dates , if that does not work you could try a xp repair if you have the xp disc

If it was an illegal download you probably have a virus! Do what Fitzdragon said.

Perhaps there is a virus like Lump said. Try taking the HD out and hooking it up to another PC and scanning it with a few different Anti-Viruses, AVG and Symantecs Norton for a start, then back up your important files onto the 2nd machine and try the HD back on it original machine. If that doesnt work format the thing and get your own original My documents files back of the 2nd PC.
