    Yes, I have it.

No problems that I can see. Have to get used to Tv-guide Green for the planner...

I seem to be lucky. It seems that everytime there's an update there's a rash of people with failed boxes (probably hard drives). I suspect that it's partly the shock to the system of a powerdown/reboot. Probably the same happens when there's a power cut in an area.

    Ix.

Have any of you guys got a PVR3? or was it your PVR2's which were updated?

Mine still has not upgraded... It was only installed 2 weeks ago. Model no. 1.127 Version No.7F2202 Operating System 1.31AOE EPG 1.30.q Is this a PVR2 or 3??? How can you tell. I am having probs with "No signal" messages, freezing on rewind etc..... I tried a forced download but I understand that this will only reload existing software.... might have to call the dreaded Customer Support!!!

Ah! I've just realised why my 2nd box hasn't downloaded the new software - probably because it's not subscribed! It's an old Panasonic with UK FTV card. How do I force the software upgrade? The new favourites setup would be great for this box to hide all the channels I can't get. It's some convoluted procedure isn't it?

To force a reload..... Remove AC power from box......Plug power back while holding Backup Button on box (not Remote). Wait for all lights to come on box.
........BUT BE WARNED If your power or signal fails your Digibox can be damaged beyond repair!!!

The new software isn't out for normal Sky boxes yet! Don't even attempt to force downoad it, because it won't be available for forced downloads even for Sky+ boxes for quite some time

Maybe wrong here, but I dont think they have started updating the software on the normal sky boxes as of yet. So thats why it is still using the old software.

OK - thanks for the info!
So should my regular Sky box still automatically upgrade when they roll it out, even though it just has a Freeview card bought from Sky? (by my brother-in-law in England)

Yes it will upgrade automatically when the software is sent regardless of it using a Freeview card.

I find the whole pressing green for the planner to be a pain. I prefered the old system. If it aint broke.........?

Is this the first time an User Interface change has gone to Sky+ before Sky Digibox?

IS it because it also fixes serious Sky+ bugs and the regular Digibox has no obvious bugs at the moment?

    My v3 Sky+ box awaits....

I wonder, if you record something overnight, will it miss the software download??

I got the update on my Pace V2 about a week and a half ago and I like it. But I keep automatically pressing '0' instead of 'Green' for the planner.

No, when the last update (The one thata caused the major 'bug') was realeased all it did was interupt the recording in progress. But It all depends on what time Sky sends out the update as the programme may be on at a different time to update!

Just saw this on another Forum.....

    Dear
    Customer Account Number: ***********

Thank you for your email concerning the new Sky software update.

I can confirm that Sky is currently updating all customers with the new software upgrade. This process will take approximately 6 weeks in total between the 16/01/20006 and the 24/02/2006. So by the end of end of February all customers will have the new software. Sky+ systems will be the first to be updated and this should all be complete by the end of January.

I hope this information assists. Should you require any further assistance you can speak to our technical team on 08702 435 000.

    Kind regards

    To recap on SW update:
    * You don't need a phone line.

    * On or Standby doesn't matter, as long as mains and LNB signal, the update works.

    * Forced update won't work till roll out is complete and they remove current version from transmission

    * It doesn't make any difference by Card, Subscription etc, They go by Model (& possibly serial numbers).

    * ALL Sky+ first then ordinary Digiboxes

    * They phase a rollout to reduce load on call centre as any new rollout increases the number of calls.

    * Changing EPG numbers for channels is a normal Sky feature, a roll out is not needed. Everyone's numbering will change together overnight when rollout is complete on all kinds of boxes.

    * Only unplugged from mains boxes will miss a roll out

*Even if a box is in a cupboard and plugged in 6 months time, it will likely update on its own eventually, a forced update would update it at once.

    * Forced update only needed for a Sky box not connected at all, ever over next few months, or a box that never points at "Sky" (28E) but used all the time on Hotbird or Astra 19E.

    * I don't recommend trying the Sky Italia "default transponder" on 13E and forcing and update, but if anyone has a spare Digibox they don't care about, I'm sure we would love to hear what happens. AFASIK the "default transponder setting" in Services 4 0 1 select is different.

i used to always do this to get to the sky+ planner
TV Guide - Up - Select

now that just lists all of the Adult channels, doh!

i do like the Blue button option for your favourites grid!

My PVR3 got the update at about 4AM this morning. So to those who have been asking about their PVR3s getting it, looks like you may have it now or don't have long to wait.

I didn't notice any problems with it yet either.
