    Hi all,

    The Irish Cancer Society is recruiting for the above position at present.

    Description: IT Support Technician
    Closing date: 6th February 06

    OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

    Provision of front line support and troubleshooting for desktop hardware and software, network / local printers and phone systems within the ICS.

    MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Monitoring all servers.
    System Administration.
    Resolving user IT and phone issues on a priority basis.
    Rebuilding computers and installing applications.
    Backups and checking backup software.
    Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Anti-Virus software on all network computers and servers.
    Support for all in house printers.
    Essential maintenance.
    Logging of calls to external support companies.
    In house training when required.
    Other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the System Administrator.


    PERSON SPECIFICATION:


    2/3 year’s experience in a similar technical support role preferably with experience in supporting MS Exchange 2003, Windows Server 2003, XP and Windows 2000 operating systems.
    Familiar with PC and Server Hardware.
    Strong analytical, and problem solving techniques.
    Office 2000 / XP / 2003 skills.
    Experience with, or knowledge of Backup Exec software.
    Strong communication skills and an approachable manner.
    Flexible and willing to learn.
    Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised.
    Relevant IT qualification would be an advantage.
    ONE YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT
