Just a quick question, are there daily events in the various casino's in Dublin?

I'm relatively new to the game, about 6 months and was looking to have some games for small money, maybe €20-30 registration.

    Any help is appreciated.

Also, how long should I expect to play on any night?

if you look on antesup.com they have all the tournament schedules.

A particular game you might like is in the Fitzwilliam casino on Sunday afternoons at 4:30pm. It is a 30euro buy-in tournament, with a lot of people from boards playing at it. It also has a very good structure that allows a lot of play.

No-Limit Texas Holdem. Freezeout. 4.30pm, is this it?

Looks good, its the exact same way I usually play it with no buy ins.

How long does it go on for? How many people play? Prize money?

Depends on how well you play ;)

    Depends on the turn out...

I do get the idea, what have the past prize funds been?

    I'll probably go Sunday week.

Apart from money, is there anything else I need to bring? I take it they supply soft drinks.

Yes they provide soft drinks, how about some sweeties? ;)

Total prize pool averages out around 8/900e depending on the turn out

I can't remember the exact break downs but it's the best value tournament in Dublin.

Alright thanks guys, it would be nice to get some experience while playing against people I don't know rather than playing against friends.

Ire this 30 f/o tournie - another stupid newbie question coming...do they supply dealers for all tables in this tournie or do we have to deal our own button?

self deal. Some tables someone will seat in and deal for the table and play, others take it in turns.

You will usually find some idi... eh... nice person volunteering to deal for the table but in the absence of "nice" people you deal your own button.

Me no good at dealing :(

If no one wants to deal at my table I usually offer, quicker than passing the cards from person to person. Usually someone does the needful and deals for their table...

You don't need to be... deal out the correct number of hands in a little circle if you need to and make sure everybody gets the correct hand passed down to them. Nobody cares.

If your hands are shaking too much to pick up the deck then I'm sure the guy next to you will help out.

To be honest, most of the time you'll find a volunteer will be dealing anyway.

    me good at dealing:)

me no good at check-raising, playing tight, playing aggressive, bankroll management, bluffing, semi-bluffing, reading players, early tournie strategy, HU strategy, pre-flop, post-flop...you get the picture

I'll be the guy with the confused worried look:eek:

lol i will play, but i wouldnt be too scared :p

Its a fun tourney, lighthearted and a great place to start.

Also dont worry too much about the self deal as like was said above, someone will do it for u if u need.

(Im an awful dealer by the way, would love to learn that rifle shuffle thing, anyone able to teach it)
