Having looked at the race this morning JAQUOUILLE stands out a mile for value at 9/1 with ladbrokes.

There is certinaly a big race in the horse after last years form..

Im not a great believer in EW, so ill be backing to win only..

I would say this horse will end up less that 5/1 by the time the race is off.....!!!!!

I backed him in the Paddy Powrer at christmas. He was FAV but came nowhere. I think it was his first run in ages tho, so might be spot on for this one. Will prob try him again depending on price.

I was talking to one of the owners of dun doire at the weekend and they said if he gets the call to race today to back him. Hes bottom weight but Im not sure if Ill back him if he runs.

Dun Doire is an early market mover so it looks like he got in.

I rang the bookies to put the bet on-they gave me 4/1 even though its not definitely running yet. Strange. She said she never saw that before. Will get my money back though if it doesn't run.

Killeaney is a N/R, Dun Doire is presumably in so.

I've had a couple of different calls about Dun Doire from usually decent sources, if he gets in which it looks like he will I'd expect him to shorten up a fair bit.

You can still get slightly better than 4/1 on Betfair.

Not really a tip as such so i'm not going to satrt a new thread.

Pighead reckons Chomba Womba has a good chance in the last (4.20) at Gowran Park, won a few quid on hiom Nerw Years Eve when he won easily over two miles at Punchestown. The favourite for this race( Black Harry) is now a non-runner which gives Chomba Womba a decent each way bet. Another plus is that two of its main rivals(Derravala Eagle and Leading run) are having their first outings for over a year.
Anyway should be about 5 or 6-1 and will be surprised if its not in the top 3.

Will be about 7/2 with the non runner.

Ah yes good point Fade, forgot the price would plummet with the non runner. Anyway its 4-1 with Paddys at the moment which represents decent each way value.

The only thing is, with it not being a handicap you'll only get 1/5 the odds. i.e if you put 20 pucks each way and he places, you'll get 36 back.

At 1/5 its not decent e/w value.

I hear what your saying but personally i'd be more than willing to risk losing 4 euro for a horse i think has a very good chance of winning the race.
By decent each way value i'm saying i'm almost sure it will come in the top 3.
I do however realise that it is not decent each way value in the truest sense of the phrase.

That's fair enough. Good luck with it.

he grabbed a nice bit of ground on the turn, did his best to fall aswell, i got a tip but didnt back it fair play to those who did.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,757 ✭✭✭masterK

Very obvious, I can't remember a time when there were so many tips going around for the same horse in a supposedly competitive race.

A look at the jockey arrangements this morning really said it all.

The poor bookies must have lost a packet, seemed to be backed by every man, woman and child in the country, except the OP that is.
