I was flicking through the Argos catalog last night and discovered that they are still selling the S*daStream

Really thought this was gone at this stage - this means that there are still poor children all over the land drinking 12-15 litres of 3000% carbonated, sugary water with some green/orange/yellow/red food-coloring + "flavouring" poured in.

This has to stop - I was one of these kids - after 3-4 hours of Soda abuse you go wild-eyed and twitchy. Your fingers quiver and your hands clench. The 50th or 60th time you go back to the machine for another fix its the SodaMan bringing you back there - you no longer have a choice.

The SodaChild is so bloated and so chock-full of sugar and E additives that they will not sleep without comatose-thrashing for at least 6 days. Sibling assaults rise 70%-80% fuelled by Soda Binges and excessive queues at the carbonation-queue.

We need to call for an outright ban and we need to act now. Please join with me and pledge your support.

    They're still available?

    Savage!

*me runs out to argos to buy one*

To be fair, those were legendary in their day. Hours of fun.

Sodastream never came off the market, it's really popular in a few countires like Germany and Sweden as far as I remember.

What you definitely can't do is carbonate orange juice.
I still have nightmares about that.
Also, never try to "super-carbonate" Coke.

And while we are on the theme, never try to substitute water and coffee in a coffee maker for milk and hot chocolate.

yeah, yeah, SOUNDS good in theory, but just leaves you with the smell of molten plastic for ever.

The bright blue one was by far the most scary looking. Mr. T's Fruit Punch, I believe it was called. Tasted nothing like any sort of fruit.

fizzy vodka, lovely. I like vodka 50/50 with mixers which end up tasting flat. They are very expensive these days, esp when similar muck can be got in tescos for 35cent for a 2 litre. If you used decent liquids it is good.

    Anyone tried making fizzy vodka?

Fizzy milk would only be possible if you used completely skimmed milk. Any fat present will make carbonation nigh on impossible.
