Does anyone know a way to buy Windows XP Home OEM so that I can have it in my hands today (or tomorrow morning at the latest)?

If it's to be shipped, it need to be guaranteed delivery for tomorrow (or give me the CD key before shipping). If it's walk in, it needs to be in the Dublin area.

Elara don't have it on their website, and Komplett will take too long to deliver. I'll ring IT Direct when they open, and I doubt Maplin/Peats will do OEM versions. Anywhere else I should try?

    TIA

Someone here has one. You could ask about next day postage.

See if Komplett will let u collect from them direct ??

I know a friend of mine had to return faulty goods to them and his father works nearby, so after the RMA stuff was sorted he just dropped the parcel off, maybe if u order and clear it online they can leave it at reception or whatever for u ??

Doesn't OEM Windows come with hardware? As in you have to buy a certain hardware product before you can buy OEM Windowss?

Not anymore, Microsoft have changed their OEM licence.
Now in order to buy a copy of OEM software (from MS) you have to be a registered System Builder with one of their OEM resellers, and you would end up buying about 10-50 copies of the software in those shrinkwrapped packages with the serial numbers on the outside.

Your only realistic option is to buy an upgrade or full retail version of the software unless you know a systembuilder who can be pursuaded to sell you a copy.

Your best bet is to buy it from a reseller and pick it up from the disti. I know a lot of people don't keep software in their office and just ship it direct to the end user.

The only place I know off hand who would have them is ccity.ie but you need to buy it from a reseller as they are not allowd to sell direct.

midia.ie (MS distributor) are quite large also and i'm sure IT direct can order a copy off them (just ask them to say it's for collection).

Wizzard, I'm in the process of getting unbanned from For Sale, so I'll give that a shot if/when I do, ta

Misty, Komplett don't have a distribution point here .. they just outsource a collection point for RMAs

Static M.e. .. where are you based (maybe PM me that!), and is it just 98/ME .. will a 98 Second Ed disc work (have license)? If so and you're Dublin based, lemme know how much you're looking for. Ta.

Peripherals were never covered by OEM I'm afraid. Nor is RAM. It has to be something like a PC card or hard drive or optical drive etc.

http://www.marxcomputers.ie They might have it in stock. It's listed as an addon for their systems/laptops. Worth asking them at least. They're based on the Northside of Dublin.
