    absoloute bull****e.

Alltho I did see quad kings lose to quak aces in a tourny once, but when that happens to someone losing quads, I mena it must put you on tilt for like....well forever :D

You should have gone all in one the flop

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,515 ✭✭✭BrokenArrows

    Man that must have hurt.

Hope that never happens to me.

ouch. well now you have a 'don't talk to me about bad beats...' story!

As nicky pointed out slowplaying quads is a terrible idea.:D

He was right to not go all in. The chances of that happening were very slim. He thought he had the absolute nuts and he wanted to hold out for as much as he could. Going all in would have been a very silly move in my opinion. Just got unlucky.

Your sarcasmometer mustn't have been turned on. Cos it would have givin a reading of about 8/9.

    :)

Kinda half thought that, but the lack of a smiley and the beer in my system played havoc with the detector.

Either way he was gonna be crippled, cos the guy wasnt gonna laydown a house with top set. he was only losing to one hand.

Um, not sure about that, can't see this guy laying down his house. Also, whatever about not slow playing top 2 pair or trips for fear of some hitting flushes etc. but TBH four of a kinda is RARELY gonna be beatin, especially in this manner. I would try milking here all the time, this was just extremley unlucky. The guy raised preflop in LP 2XBB - did you have him 5's at all? if so then yeah push post flop, but I'd be surprised if anyone would of put him on that hand!
    Really unlucky.

In fairness it was obvious he had quad fives. you should have folded to a re-raise on the river.

people really need to fix the glitches in their sarcasmometers.

however cardshark202 would have definitely folded to a re-raise on the river. He's like that!

Betting the flop would of been better than checking. Theres nothing special about quads, the chips wont fly into the pot on their own accord. Hands like this always make me despair, (allthough I love it when my opponents play like this).

I had a hand recently. I raise preflop with AK. The button calls who is loose and overaggressive. Flop is 55T. We both check. Next card is a ten. I check, with the intention of calling any bet now and on the river, he checks. River is an ace. I check. He bets $4 into a pot of $40. I call. He has 55. By slowplaying he cost himself at least $100 - 200, maybe more. On the hand posted in the OP, the only reason all the chips ended in the pot was that the other player had a monster too.

Glitches in sarcasmometers....shut up. This forum is way too cliquey. We're supposed to know everyone and their stupid little ways are we??

easy there fade2black. I wasn't being clique-y. It's just a bit obvious. I don't like clique-iness and i think that with certain forums it can seem that way unintentionally.
And i'd appreciate if we didn't get all feisty saying things like 'shut up'.
Sorry for any offence but let's not get nasty about it.

To be honest jtsuited, that wasn't totally aimed at you (despite the quote)...I've seen a lot of people using this forum shot down in recent times cause they weren't on the same wave length as some of the regular posters.

And I don't think it was obvious to be honest. Nicky O D made a post saying you should have gone all in on the flop, that was it, no smiley no nothing. Now there are some cautious people out there who would stand by that quote and because I don't know Nicky O D and his usual poker style how was I, or any of the subsequent posters supposed to know it was sarcasm.

I took it out on you cause you were the second person to mention sarcasmometers....apologies ;) (you also made me use that bloody rolleyes smiley which I detest)

Getting back to the hand I think it has put me on tilt. I played in the 6k tonight got to the final table and then played like a f**tard to use Nicky's vernacular.

    AAAAhhhh!

    That's better.:D
