Task Manager info .....

    It's often mentioned McAfee, NAV,NIS etc present a much greater burden on systems than some of the freebee's but how is that reflected in 'Task Manager' statistics? ......

    What should you be looking at on 'Task manager', to see just how much of a burden your protection system is creating? .... :confused:

    Just checked my AVG and its running at bout 2000k mem usage and thats bloody low. Norton runs a lot higher IMO. Its just the bloody startup that i cant stand with its ages upon ages rubbish and the constant "please update" pop up windows and warnings.

    For the most part you're just checking memory usage in the processes tab. Though some packages will have more than one process, so you'll have to find all the ones that belong to the package and total them up.
    Then there's the CPU cycles it uses though that's a little harder to calculate even at idle.
