Anyone catch any programmes in this series. Bascially it takes a look at everyday life in various parts of Dublin in 1988. There are lots of street scenes and naturally lots of cars of the time. It is quite nostalgic to see the cars. Obviously most of the individual vehicles on display will be long gone. And some model types are probably virtually extinct now and will never be seen again on an Irish road. Strange to think seeing as 1988 isn't THAT long ago.

Tonights programme was about Rathmines. Some of the car on display - loads of 1970s Datsuns, Toyotas and Mazdas. Seemed to be more Datsuns than anything else. Renault 5, 18, 20. Peugeot 104, 504. Ford Escort mk2 and 3 and Cortina Mk4/5. Opel Rekord, Morris Minor, Fiat 131 and Ritmo

Shyte... didn't occur to me to watch it.

I try to catch The Professionals, Randall & Hopkirk(deceased) just for the retro-cars (well, it would hardly be for the cheezy jokes ;) )

It's longer ago than when I was born, I didn't see it myself, when is it on?

Last night there was a program on Hugh Leonard made in the late seventies. Theres a shot of Dalkey castle from the church car park - right over the unmistakable roof of a blue DS. Class.

That was made in 1975, also had a white Fiat 850. There was also a white fastback type saloon, I'd guess a Lancia Beta or Gamma saloon but can't be sure
