CONSULTATION MEETING ON PROPOSED SKATE PARK

    CALLING ALL SKATERS!!

Would you be interested in attending a meeting to design a new Skatepark?. Waterford City Council in conjunction with Waterford Sports Partnership are interested in talking to you and getting your views on how the new Skatepark will look. Waterford City Council has accessed funding of €140,000 from the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to develop a Skatepark in the People’s Park.

The Office of Community and Enterprise are organising a meeting of all interested young people involved in skateboarding in the City. The meeting will take place in Edmund Rice Youth & Community Centre on Manor Street on Friday 27th January at 4.15pm. If you have any interest in skateboarding, please come along to the meeting.

If skateboarders come on here in a years time and start to complain that the park is no good they will now only have themselves to blame!!!!

That's a bit harsh. Anyway....good to see the city council are actually taking steps to make use of the park. At the moment, all you can do is walk through it really, and when it rains, you can't even do that....

Urban planning seems to have hit the bottom of the curve..lets hope it improves from here...
