Many Irish people look embarassed...

... especially when they smile in photos. Just something I've noticed and it's not a criticism either because it can look cute. Any thoughts?

My mum is always taking a zillion photos at every family event. Always shouting "Look into the camera". No wonder everyone looks embarassed...

i hate posing for photos & i hate photos that look completely posed & fake!! there is only about 1 fairly recent picture of me that i like that i was posing for.. . does anyone like pictures of themselves?

Many Irish people correctly feel they aren't good looking enough to be photogenic and consequently are embarrassed when you're looking at their photos.

Btw, i really dont think its restricted to irish people. And no, it doesnt matter if i pose for photos or if theyre taken without me knowing, i always look retarded. Its not fair, but i dont care.

Just recently, someone said I looked 'cute' when I get embarressed.
to which I got even more embaressed, but made me feel alot better for it thought. Its a natural reaction know matter how it came about. I hate having pic's taken of me tbh..

The kind of embaressed I hate is where you find out you've been wrong about something - having shouted the odds over it. That said, it doesnt happen often

My sister always dodged the camera, until a holiday we had in France.
One day in particular she said she wanted to take a good photo for her boyf at the time. everytime I put the camera to my face, she didnt realise she was screwing up her face, and looked uptight, and flushed.
I wouldn't take the picture for her until she looked natural. I think she thought I wasn't going to take it because I made her wait so long.
She didn't give the picture to him in the end, she liked it so much :rolleyes:

Tbh, I think some of the worst photos are taken when someone rudely whips out a camera and starts flashing it around the place.
For some reason Irish people think this is hilarious.

I hate photos of myself...aargh, they make me feel so awkward and embarrassed, I just hate the posing and can't do it then I always end up looking all awkward and terrible.Yucky.

I just got photos back from my trip home at Christmas that I was really looking forward to, only to find I look hideous in all of them. Delightful.

That sounds like me. I always feel like a twat while waiting for someone to take a picture which is why I always try and be the person holding the camera.
