Hello all, im new to this game, so go easy, but does anybody know if Modeltechnics Dynaglo 16% is suitable for my revo and if not, what fuel is suitable? I think I read somewhere (cant remember where) that this fuel is not for cars/ trucks because of the low oil content or something. Anybody have any ideas???

    Thanks

I'm using Dynaglow 16 in my T-maxx with no problems, I even broke it in on the stuff... Seems fine to Me But lets see what others think...

I used MT16% in my sons T-Maxx and it ran fine ( but hot )
I use Dynaglo 20% in my Revo and it runs like a dream..:D

Read This thread for more info on nitro.

The fuel you have will do.
It just has a lot of nitro for running in. So it is easy to let your engine get too hot.
I would always run in on 5% nitro (or straight (=0% nitro) myself and get the engine loosened up, before putting any "hot" fuel in.
But plenty of folks run in on higher nitro, and while it eats glowplugs for breakfast, it helps start the thing when you have incorrect settings.

Make sure to keep the settings rich if you are running in on 16%, often beginners using that for running in have at least one seize or soft seize. Keeping it rich prevents that happening.

I would also suggest you stay away from top throttle until about 4 tank-fills have gone through it.

sorry lads for the late reply but I thought I'd let you know how I got on with with the break in.
Had a little trouble starting the very first time, but after a lot of swearing, flooding, priming, more flooding and more swearing i eventually got it started. The second time round time round I spent a full 10 mins trying to get it going until I spotted what I assume and hope is a common beginners mistake.. duh no prizes for guessing what that was....
On the 4th run I blew a glow plug, but I was expecting that and had a spare on hand.
The 5th run I broke my first part, a front bumper mount when I went head on into the gable end of the house.... a spot of super glue will have to do for the moment.
Tuning went OK, temps were a little high at first, but are ok now with plenty of blue smoke.
Overall I'm really happy with it and I have to say I'm begining to get addicted as long as my wallet holds out !
