You can go to the Media Player Library, and right click on a song and press "Delete from computer", if you want it to be gone completely, or "Delete from library" if you want it to be gone just from WMP. This will work, but if you have lots and lots of songs you are going to be at it a while

I do not know of any quicker way in which you can delete them all at once

Do you mean remove them from the media library? There is a way of deleting them all but cant remember and am not on my own machine to check. Try selecting a song, then press ctrl-A and press delete. (Bit obvious)

Have you right-clicked the folder/files to make sure they aren't write-protected? (they'll be read-only if they are)
You really shouldn't need software to delete files. Sheesh... noob
