Bought a new battery on ebay for my 3rd Gen ipod but haven't managed to
open it up to install. Anyone manage to get theirs open?

yea, it takes a bit of persuasion though, you need a small flathead screwdriver or something similar to push in between the metal and plastic on the side of it and then pop it open, there are two clips on each side iirc and once you pop these open thats it, if you search online theres plenty of guides with pictures aswell.

Difficult and scary. I have done 2 and was very worried about damaging them. Once the first lug pops you are fine. Go easy. hope you got a polymer instead of the same old ipod dud battery
