How many FPS do you get in DirectX 9?

The question's in the title... Just installed my new AGP 6800GS and I'm getting ~40FPS in DirectX 9 with everything on. Surprisingly, turning everything down doesn't imrpove things much... Furthermore, is it true that the (eagerly awaited) patch will improve FPS in DirectX 9 considerable? Thank you in advance!

I hope so. i get 91 pfs constantly on DX 7 but 30ish in DX9.
its so gay

DirectX 7 gives u an advantage though, no fog
how do i check the FPS on cod2?
