Bathroom light / shaver wire

We're buying a new house (new build) and we're down to the last couple of snags. Two of the bathrooms have wires hanging out of the walls over the sinks. The builders says they're for lights / shavers. The wires have small white plastic boxes connected to the ends. We don't want to install lights or shaver outlets yet but we might like to in future. We just want to hang mirrors over the sinks but the boxes are quite bulky, only about 2.5 inches square but one inch thick. The builder has said we can just take the boxes off, that they're just waterproof boxes required by the regulations - the wires apparently are all taped up. Does that sound right to you knowledgable people? Can we take off the boxes and just leave the wires hanging down behind the mirrors without risk of shock?! Or maybe shove the wires back into the wall?!

    Any advice gratefully received!

you can take the box off and push the cable back into the wall if you put the cable in connectors and wrap in insulating tape. Turn the lighting MCB off at the fuseboard before doing this. Make sure you are able to get the cable out at a later date.

thy're just boxes to cover up the exposed wires, but like spark says, switch off the mcb first before you remove it.

If there's no tape, justt put some on. Make it safe. If you intend to push it into the wall, make sure you can retrieve it later.
